Organic search engine optimization is a method of improving the search volume and traffic to a site through search engines via "natural" or "organic"(Non-Paid) search results for a specific targeted keyword.
There are only two ways to get traffic from search engines. One is through paid listings and other is to rank high in SERPs.I will leave about paid listigs as it is not affordable for everyone and is important only for websites selling something.I will kick off with the second option-ranking high in SERPs.
The only thing in the world which can bring your blog to higher ranks is Search Engine Optimization and this is reason why SEO is so much talked about. In this series of posts I will try my best to give you a basic idea and some SEO tips and tricks to optimize your blog.
In this first post of this series I will deal with just introductory parts of Search engine optimization.I will become more tech as I go on with this series of posts.
Two aspects of Search engine
optimization (SEO) :
There are two inter-related aspects of SEO-1)On Page Optimization :
On page optimization deals with things you do on your own pages to get maximum from search engines for targeted keywords.2)Off Page Optimization :
Off page optimization deals with things one do off page (on other websites) to get maximum from search engines.Factors considered in on page optimization :
Search engines consider a number of on page factors while evaluating a site. These factors are-
1) Keywords
2) Title tags
3) Tags ,such as, "h1.......h6" , "b" , "i" and "alt" attribute.
4) Keyword density
5) Site structure and architecture
6) Linking patterns and keywords used in anchor text in internal links
7) Sitemaps and navigation
I will write about each and every factor listed here in great detail in other posts of this series. For now I will quickly jump over to the factors considered in the off page optimization.
Factors considered in off page optimization :
Off page optimization is related with the inbound links your site/blog is getting from other website.Although search engine algorithms differ for different search engines but in general following factors are considered-- Which website is linking to you?
- How many websites are linking to you?
- What are the page ranks of the websites linking to you?
- What anchor text are being used to link to you?
- Is the link exchanged or one way?
- No. of outbound and inbound links on the page linking to you?
I have just given an introductory note on Search engine optimization in this post.I have discussed each and every factor in great detail in other posts of Organic Search engine optimization (SEO) series.
